Aston Martin to run one-off Cognizant anniversary livery in Austin

Aston Martin will race a special livery at the United States Grand Prix to mark five years of partnership with technology company Cognizant. The team announced the design on 21 October. It arrives at a difficult moment: the team has scored just seven points from 17 races.

A team near the bottom of the table is getting one of the weekend's more eye-catching cars. Aston Martin Aramco announced on 21 October that it will run a one-off livery at the Circuit of the Americas, built around a milestone for one of its longest-standing partners.

What the team announced

The design celebrates five years of partnership with Cognizant, the technology services company that joined the team in 2021, when Aston Martin returned to the grid under its own name. According to the team, Cognizant became its Global AI Services Partner earlier this year, so the relationship has widened rather than simply continued.

Team owner Lawrence Stroll framed the livery as a gesture of thanks. He called it a "visible thank you to Cognizant and its people for five years of partnership". Cognizant chief executive Ravi Kumar S said the livery marks not only five years together but a shared commitment to "building what's next".

RacingNews365 reports that the design adds new colour shades to the car. The team published a reveal film alongside the announcement, but its own text does not describe the colours in detail, so the exact look will only be clear when the car rolls out of the garage in Austin.

Part of a crowded livery weekend

Aston Martin is one of several teams changing its look for the United States round. Haas has a Godzilla-themed car, Cadillac a design inspired by the American West and Mercedes a blue-accented scheme tied to its MANUFAKTUR customisation programme. Ferrari is also expected to reveal something for the weekend, according to RacingNews365.

The season so far, by the numbers

The livery lands in a season that has been tough for the team. After 17 rounds, our race data shows Aston Martin with seven points from grand prix finishes. Only Cadillac, with none, has scored fewer.

Those seven points came from three results: Fernando Alonso was tenth in Monaco, ninth at Zandvoort and eighth in Kuala Lumpur, which remains the team's best finish of 2026. Lance Stroll's best result is 12th, also in Kuala Lumpur. Both cars have finished the same race only four times in 17 attempts: Miami, Silverstone, Budapest and Kuala Lumpur.

RacingNews365 links the struggles to problems with the Honda power unit, including early-season vibration issues and a deficit in straight-line speed.

What comes next

Practice for the United States Grand Prix begins later this week, with the race on Sunday 25 October. Whatever the car looks like, the points picture is simple: a top-ten finish in Austin would be only the fourth time Aston Martin has scored this year.
