Doohan reportedly in line for Haas substitute role after Ocon's exit

According to RacingNews365, Jack Doohan is the expected reserve for Haas at the next races after Esteban Ocon was pulled from the Mexico City weekend. The report cites unnamed paddock sources and has not been confirmed by the team.
This report has not been officially confirmed. We will update it if that changes.
What is being reported
According to RacingNews365, Jack Doohan may be about to return to the Formula 1 paddock in a working role. The outlet says unnamed paddock sources expect the Australian to be Haas' reserve for the São Paulo Grand Prix on 8 November and the races that follow, in Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Haas has not confirmed this.
The report follows the team's announcement on Saturday that Esteban Ocon would take no further part in the Mexico City weekend. Haas gave no reason beyond saying he is not ill. Reserve Ryo Hirakawa took over from final practice and is due to make his race debut.
Why the Hirakawa step may be short
RacingNews365 reports that Hirakawa is expected at Monza for the final round of the World Endurance Championship, where he races for Toyota, a major Haas sponsor. That would make his Formula 1 outing in Mexico a one-off. In the outlet's words, "the odds remain strong that it will be a one-off appearance", with Doohan set to take over.
Background
Doohan started 2025 as Alpine's race driver but was replaced by Franco Colapinto after six races. RacingNews365 says he came close to a permanent Haas seat, but Haas chose Rafael Camara to replace Ocon from 2027. Some in the paddock have suggested giving Camara a chance now, but the report says the prevailing view is that it is too early, as he is still fighting for the Formula 2 title with rounds in Qatar and Abu Dhabi remaining.
This is an unconfirmed report. Haas has not said who will drive or stand by at the coming races.
